Revisiting the ruins

Returning to the place I photographed six years ago felt quite frustrating at first, as almost every piece of movable metal had been removed, leaving only (parts of) the walls. But after a while of feeling my way around the changed location, some interesting motifs emerged.
A few weeks later, I was sitting in a café with large prints of the pictures I had just had bound, flipping through them, when an old man came over from the next table and asked if he could have a look at the pictures because he used to work there. When he finished flipping through the book and looked up, he had tears of nostalgia in his eyes. That day I learned something new about photography and its power.
